Stego v1.21: Evolving from Scenario Authoring to Scenario Generation
As mobile applications continue to grow in complexity, the ability to verify user flows quickly and accurately has become a critical competitive advantage.
Stego—Apptest.ai’s test scenario authoring platform—has been evolving to reduce the friction of creating scenarios while simultaneously increasing verification precision.
With the Stego v1.21 update, we’re taking a major step forward: moving from manually “authoring” scenarios to intelligently “generating” them.
This release introduces three key features that streamline workflow, handle complex logic gracefully, and make test creation dramatically more intuitive.
1. Intuitive Scenario Creation: The New Record Feature
Historically, writing test scenarios meant manually building steps one at a time—a slow, detailed process that made onboarding and initial setup challenging.
The new Record feature transforms this experience entirely.

Simply interact with your mirrored device—tap, scroll, input text—and Stego automatically detects your actions and generates corresponding test steps in real time.
No code. No repetitive authoring.
Just natural interactions that instantly convert into clean, structured scenarios.
Anyone can now build scenarios effortlessly—even without technical experience.
2. Cleaner, Smarter Verification: Checkpoint Action
Accurate validation is the foundation of reliable test automation.
But when screens grow complex, users often end up writing multiple verification steps—leading to cluttered, harder-to-maintain scenarios.
The new Checkpoint Action solves this by consolidating multiple assertions into a single, readable step:

- Multi-Validation: Validate multiple UI elements, text values, or variables at once.
- Soft Assertions: Choose whether failures should halt execution or simply be logged—giving you control over test flow behavior.
3. Real-World Flexibility: Else Action for Branching Logic
Mobile environments are unpredictable. Pop-ups, OS variations, permission dialogs—unexpected elements often break traditional linear test flows.
The new Else Action expands Stego’s conditional logic, making scenarios more resilient:

- If condition is met: Run the defined “happy path.”
- Else: Execute fallback logic—dismiss a pop-up, navigate differently, or handle unexpected UI states.
Your tests can now adapt to real-world variations without breaking, even in noisy or inconsistent environments.
Stego v1.21: Faster, Cleaner, More Resilient
With this release, test creation becomes faster, validations become clearer, and scenarios gain the flexibility needed to run reliably in real-world conditions.
